Sharik Hasan | Piano

Sharik Hasan is one of the leading pianists and composers of his generation to emerge from India. He spent several years studying jazz and classical music in France and the USA while also working in Indian classical musical traditions. He was selected to be part of a special honors program, the Berklee Global Jazz Institute. He has performed at venues all over the world including the Blue Note (New York), Panama Jazz Festival, Nancy Jazz Festival (France), Lincoln Center (New York) and has shared the stage with luminaries such as John Patitucci, Joe Lovano, Wayne Shorter, Terri Lyne Carrington, Adam Nussbaum, Ralph Peterson, and David Liebman among others.

Adam Larson | Saxophone

AdamAdam Larson is a rising star in the New York jazz scene. Described by critic Howard Reich of The Chicago-Tribune as “a player for whom the word ‘prodigious’ was coined”. Larson is currently a faculty member for Arturo O’Farrill’s Afro Latin Jazz Alliance in New York. Larson has garnered numerous awards that showcase his abilities as a performer and composer. Upon completion of his Bachelors degree at The Manhattan School of Music in May of 2012, Larson was selected as a member of the inaugural Manhattan School of Music Jazz Institute, to continue his studies as a Master’s student.

Philippe Lemm | Drums

PhilippePhilippe Lemm was born in Amsterdam where he attended the conservatory and received a bachelors degree in Music. He was awarded with a HSP scholarship to continue his studies in New York and was a finalist in the Roland V-Drums contest and Leidse Jazz Award. He performed at internationally known festivals and stages such as: North Sea Jazz Festival, Kennedy Center (DC) Bimhuis,Concertgebouw and Carnegie Hall. Currently Philippe is part of the faculty of the Manhattan School of Music Sunday Program.

Raviv Markovitz | Bass

RavivRaviv won 3rd place in the 2011 International Society of Bassists Jazz Bass Competition and was selected as one of 15 semifinalists for the 2009 Thelonious Monk International Jazz Bass Competition. He was selected to the 2009 GRAMMY Jazz Ensemble, the 2010 YoungArts Jazz Fellows, and the 2008 Vail Jazz Workshop under John Clayton. He has performed at venues such as Symphony Hall, the Berklee Performance Center, the Regattabar, The Iridium, the Jazz Gallery, the Jazz Showcase, and the Iowa City Jazz Festival. In the past, he has studied with musicians such as Charlie Banacos, Matt Penman, and Bruce Gertz. Currently Raviv is one of the most sought after young bass players of New York.
