After his 2011 dud with “Maharajas,” Canadian Punjabi singer is hoping for a second lease of life with his new single This Party Gettin Hot featuring another Canadian Punjabi musician, rapper Honey Singh, whose track Brown Rang became the Top Trending YouTube India video of 2012.
Set in a club, party revelers are bringing in the New Year, with Singh and Jazzy B entertaining the crowd and just having a good time. Devoid of Singh’s signature misogynist lyricism, the song surprisingly has more soul. There’s a no-drinking and driving message there and the party swiftly moves into a jail with gun-totting gangsters! Yes we are equally confused. It still is a club-thumping number, reminiscent of maybe a Bollywood Mika bhangra track.
Inspite of that, we see all NYE parties around Punjab land and most Indian club land bringing in 2013 with This Party Gettin Hot.
