No competition required. Demonic Resurrection are set to play at the biggest metal fest in the world, Wacken Open Air in Germany to be held from July 31 to August 2, 2014. This would be DR’s second international outing in two years, since they played Bloodstock in UK in 2012 followed by a multi-city tour of the nation. Since the band features in the main line up, and the stage details have not been made known to the band, it is difficult to gauge which other acts the band is going to share stage with. The line up for this gig does however include bigwigs like Emperor, Amon Amarth, Behemoth, Five Finger Death Punch, Hammerfall, Iced Earth, Megadeth, Motorhead, and Sodom, amongst others.

The band plans to also play at Les-Fest on June 27, 2014 in Lanark, Scotland. Frontman Sahil Makhija says “We are looking at the possibilities of having a series of gigs all the way from Scotland to Germany, especially since both the festivals are barely a month from each other. We are still working out a plan that would accommodate such an idea, since coming back to India after Scotland, and then going back to Germany makes no sense.”

While the festival always boasts the biggest names from the international metal fraternity, this year is special for one band literally the entire black metal community and metal community  has been waiting to see reunite. Makhija says “I have already seen most of the acts for this line up earlier, but the Emperor reunion is something I am really looking forward to. Also, it’s always awesome to see Behemoth playing, so yeah.”
