Mumbai’s front-runners of the rock-and-roll revolution, Pentagram released the music video for their track Tomorrow’s Decided from their 2011 album ‘Bloodywood.’ Shot atop one of Mumbai’s iconic festive Ganpati floats on the occasion of the Maharashtrian festival Ganpati Visarjan earlier this year, Pentagram strike up the band in a festive pose of their own and show pilgrims a good time, including a stage dive courtesy frontman Vishal Dadlani.
It has to be said that Pentagram is a band with gumption. Their style and deliverance is remarkable and energetic while their songwriting is ridden with revolution. Tomorrow’s Decided is exactly that kind of a song that implores people to take charge and “rise up.” The song is laden with chunky riffs, solid grooves and that high-energy drumming courtesy drummer Shiraz Bhattacharya, that mimics the rhythm of dhol players at most Ganpati processions.
“Bloodywood” is Pentagram’s expression of Mumbai with guitarist Randolph Correia’s production making sure there is enough of the city one hears in the songs, particularly in Tomorrow’s Decided. Being shot on Ganpati Visarjan, when Mumbai’s faithful throng its seaside in thousands, is that ideal visual representation.
