Q-1. What is your style of music?
It’s very downtempo, with chilled cosmic sounds slowly building into funk/nu-disco and deep house.
Q-2. When did you move from Dubai to Mumbai and has it been a change for the better or not quite yet?
I moved to Dubai in 1996 and yes it was a change for better. Musically, I met a lot of international artist and DJs, and learnt a lot in those years. I also opened and closed sets for superstars - Coolio, Sister Sledge, CeCe Peniston and Robin to name a few.
Q-3. What city has a better club culture – Mumbai or Dubai?
It’s completely different in terms of music and crowd. The clubs in Dubai are pretty awesome, there are those that are high-end bars and stick to commercial sounds, and then there are those that are strictly about the music. I love some of the bars in Mumbai as well. I honestly can’t compare.
Q-4. Can you name some of the best gigs you’ve played?
Back in the day, I played a sunset session in Mumbai at the 2003 Smirnoff Experience. In Dubai, opening for legendary disco divas like Sister Sledge and Robin was memorable.
Q-5. Are you working on anything new that you can talk about?
At the moment, I’ve finished an EP that is signed on with Italian label Stereophonic. It’s a three track EP with deep loads of chill-out and analog synths. Plus there’s a classic remake of Summertime that will drop in July on Wetsuit Records.
Q-6. What will you be playing at Beat Blender?
Of course I’ll start with chill-out and downtempo early in the evening and then build into funk and nu-disco.
