The rivaled stars of the Adult Swim metal toon Metalocalypse, have finally taken the bun out of the oven. Their contentious third album, which is also a third in their series of albums, ‘Dethalbum III’ released last week. The much-awaited album debuted at No 10 on the Billboard Top 200 charts.

In the works for more than a year, Metalocalypse creator and Dethklok frontman Brendon Small had mentioned in recent works that ‘Dethalbum III’ delay was due to production delays at Adult Swim. In fact, Small had booked studio time for the album this last summer, but couldn’t record the album owing to permissions from Adult Swim. In the interim, however, he released his debut solo album ‘Galaktikon.’

‘Dethalbum III’ is available now in a variety of formats including a standard CD, clean CD and Deluxe Edition CD/DVD combo, which includes a 32-minute behind-the-scenes documentary of the making of ‘Dethalbum III,’ as well as music videos and more. A vinyl edition of the album with special etching will also be released on November 6, 2012. Dethklok recently announced a North American headline tour with support from All That Remains, Machine Head, and special guest The Black Dahlia Murder. The tour kicks off on October 30th. The tour will make more than 30 stops throughout the United States and Canada.

When discussing the upcoming tour, Small said, “Dethklok are excited to be a part of the best tour of 2012.  We spared no expense on production for the tour. We are unleashing tons of new animation, new comedy, and new sketches and are very excited to play many new songs and can’t wait for new people to see our show. I’ll be honest, I don’t know when we will be able to pull off anything this massive again, so don’t miss it.”
